astoldbymexicanginger asked: When using a BB cream, do you prep your face like normal foundation (setting spray, translucent powder, etc.)? I usually just throw on my BB cream like a regular moisturizer, but it doesn't exactly last and ends up looking greasy. Gross! Any tips? Thanks :)

Yes! You want to treat BB Cream like a foundation, it’s just a more natural looking, light weight, easy to apply foundation :)

Of course you don’t need to you can just apply it like a moisturizer, but BB Creams (well American BB Creams) arent sold as or claim to be “long wearing” so If you do want it to last more than a few hours then adding extra steps is necessary :)

Some BB Creams are more “greasy” than others. I really like Loreal’s BB Cream because it sets and dries a little more like a powder than others so it lasts a little longer!

Hello :)

Just a little reminder to anyone new to my blog or anybody who wasnt aware before but I have a few links on the side of my page such as Makeup Tips, Product Reviews, FAQ, etc. Under the Makeup Tips link I have many posts great for beginners or those wanting to learn more about contouring, filling in eyebrows, basic/must have brushes, how to not look cakey, etc. Just a bunch of makeup info you guys can check out :)

jazielovesed asked: What is a good drugstore BB cream & a good moisturizer?

For BB Creams I really like Loreal’s BB Cream & Garnier’s BB Cream. They all give about a medium coverage, not super light coverage like some other ones. Garnier makes a regular BB Cream ideal for normal to dry skin & an oil free/oil control one for oily skin which is pretty rare for BB Creams to make a version for different skin types!

For a good moisturizer thats a little tricky because different skin types need different moisturizers

For oily/combination/normal skin day time moisturizers, ones that are light weight and not too thick try

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
  • Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer (fights acne while moisturizing)
  • Boots #7 Oil Control Moisturizer (sold at Target)
  • Cetaphil Daily Moisturizing Lotion

For normal to dry skin, deep creams/moisturizers that can be used at night or day time for those with dry skin try

  • Yes To Carrots Moisturizing Day Cream
  • Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream (not lotion version)
  • Garnier Moisture Rescue Cream
  • CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
I also really like the Yes To line, aka Yes to Carrots, Yes To Cucumbers, Yes To Blue Berries, etc each “fruit/veggie” is for a different skin problem like anti aging, dry skin, acne prone skin, brightening, etc so you can find a moisturizer/product for every skin problem :)

gemmzy-deactivated20130505 asked: What foundation would you recommend for flash photography? Everything I use gives me an awful flash back in photos!

No SPF! Low SPF under 10 is good but no SPF is ideal. The SPF in foundation reflects light making you look light/white :)

Makeup Forever HD foundation and Maybelline Super Stay are some foundations with no SPF :)
