New product alert!
Loreal La Laque and Le Matte lipsticks/lip pencils
Loreal came out with these matte and gloss lip pencil/lip stick 2 in one lipsticks that are awesome. Super pigmented and creamy, even the matte shades! They are twistable so no sharpening needed. The glossy shades are very glossy like you used a lipgloss on top and the matte shades go on very creamy and dry to a more matte finish after a minute or two.
These are super new so they may not be at your drugstore just yet, but all these awesome reviews are making me excited :D
Apologies to anyone getting annoyed of me answering this question so much, it’s my most asked question!
But I understand I may have new followers or people who havent seen me answer it yet so I still like to address it :)
I have a whole post about oily skin like tips, makeup and skincare products, etc in the Makeup Tips link on the top of my page, i’ll link it below for you :)
First i’ll explain what each finish is
- Dewy- luminous, glowing, skin looks very hydrated, not a powdery finish.
- Matte - no shine or luminosity. More on the flat side.
- Satin - in between dewy and matte. Not a matte, powder finish but not super luminous.
Usually you go for the finish your skin naturally isnt. For example if you have oily skin youre like no way do I want my skin to look dewy and luminous I’m already oily so I want a matte finish. If you have dry skin usually you want your skin to look more hydrated and glowing. You can also make your skin more dewy or more matte depending on which products youre using. You can create a dewy or matte look which more than just your foundation.
However you can also just choose which look you like more. I have combination/oily skin so I’m oily but I like a dewy or satin finish because I think it looks more natural in my opinion than a powdery, super matte finish.
Keep in mind you can also have a matte foundation and add shine with highlighters, setting sprays, shimmery blushes, etc. :)
I suggest translucent powders because they are white powders that go on clear so they add no extra coverage but take away any shine and set your makeup. Translucent powders also have blurring and perfecting properties so it makes your skin look more smooth and airbrushed so I still use it even if I use a regular colored face powder.
It’s best to touch up with a translucent or sheer powder because adding more on through out the day can look cakey if you keep layering on powder and makeup. Translucent powders never look cakey!
If you want extra coverage go for a really light weight, light coverage powder like MAC Blot powder, Maybelline Fit Me or Rimmel Stay Matte.
They usually come in loose powders but obviously pressed versions are easier to travel with and whip out the use through out the day :)
